I’ve seen little round birds like that also here in Minnesota, but only when it’s warm.

Getting back to you, I think they were a Rufous-naped Tit (Periparus rufonuchalis)

Thanks! It’s a Canon PowerShot SX720 HS. It’s a simple point-and-shoot, but it has a 40x zoom. It’s great for bird close ups, because I usually just use the automatic setting. Mine is a few years old. I believe there is an updated one that is even better.

A bit heavier than some point and shoots, but very easy to handle.

Thanks! The mane is actually more black-ish than blue-ish, depending on the sunlight.

Thanks so much. WordPress has been so interesting for me, as I view and learn about the everyday life and thoughts of people beyond the United States. The other day I was commenting to an Australian bird watcher that I would be overjoyed to look out of my window and see lorikeets on my deck like the ones he had posted!😊 Truly, it had been a blessing to focus on “the world” as I try to make my way through these difficult times in America. I got off Facebook a while back when I couldn’t abide Zuckerman and realized that was changing

Beautiful little birds. I too have just realised how similar they are to the Great Tits I have seen when visiting the UK.

My dad loved the black capped chickadees. Here in Oklahoma we have Carolina chickadees.
