The other day I was commenting to an Australian bird watcher that I would be overjoyed to look out of my window and see lorikeets on my deck like the ones he had posted!😊 Truly, it had been a blessing to focus on “the world” as I try to make my way through these difficult times in America. I got off Facebook a while back when I couldn’t abide Zuckerman and realized that was changing

I’ve seen little round birds like that also here in Minnesota, but only when it’s warm.
Getting back to you, I think they were a Rufous-naped Tit (Periparus rufonuchalis)

A bit heavier than some point and shoots, but very easy to handle.

I’ve had a similar journey in a way. WordPress is better for the arts in general. By the way, I get lorikeets on my veranda too 🙂

Beautiful little birds. I too have just realised how similar they are to the Great Tits I have seen when visiting the UK.
My dad loved the black capped chickadees. Here in Oklahoma we have Carolina chickadees.
