  1. Fortunately, some of them stay with us year-round. It does not look very spring-like in your photos yet, but harbingers of spring are definitely welcome! 😊

    1. Ha ha! 😉 When a whole group comes swooping in, you can see much more red on the wings. This first of the year one was a bit shy, I think! Their very distinctive call is “the sound of a summer afternoon” for me.
