This photo blog features the seasonal changes in nature observed in my own backyard and a variety of local environments. The Wachusett Meadow Audubon Sanctuary in Princeton, MA is often highlighted as a model for the positive effects a small nature preserve can have on the larger environment and the local community. Local sites of historical, cultural and recreational interest are spotlighted as well. All photographs were taken by me. Thank you so much for visiting.

    So lucky! I very rarely have seen Orioles over the years. Maybe I need to get a hummngbird feeder! 🙂

    Just before we left Colorado, the first cousins of your orioles arrived in our part of Colorado–Bullock’s Orioles. I have seen the Baltimore variant in eastern Colorado and Nebraska. They are such fun birds to have at the feeder!

    This is indeed a GLORIOUS looking Oriole. We get the Black-headed Oriole in South Africa which is bright yellow with a black head and an orange beak. I enjoy its visits to my nectar feeder too.
