What beauties! Birds brighten my day 🙂
Thank you Rosaliene! I’m thinking cheery thoughts as we’re just coming through extreme and relentless cold here in New England. 😉
Stay safe and warm <3
Thank you! Warmer weather is on the way, or so they say!
Nice shots, Julie. I’ve been really feeling sorry for the birds the past few days, so cold!
Can’t wait till it warms up!
Magnificent portraits. I hadn’t realised a grackle was so colourful
Grackles look mostly black, but then when the sun hits they go all iridescent. They get a bad rap around here sometimes, as they can be so aggressive.
Thanks a lot
Lovely series!
Thanks for visiting!
Great shots and delightful variety!
Thank you, and thanks for stopping by!
I so very much enjoyed these wonderful photos of the birds and others on the ground in all the seasons, Julie. Fun for me to see the juvenile phase of the blue jay, we don’t have that species on the west coast. And the male bobolink in spring breeding plumage, ahhhh, also one we don’t see in the west and a truly special bird.
Thanks, Jet. I had never seen a juvenile jay until I took that pic-such fun! “Bobolink time” is fun around here too. You can see them sort of bouncing up and down in the meadow.
I’m ready for some spring birds for sure, after this recent New England cold blast!
Cheers,
Julie
That was quite a group photo of the blue jays, the cardinal, and the red-winged blackbirds.
They are all so common, and I just love them! So dependable and colorful.
