A Gift For the Birds

I was surrounded by a colorful group today as I opted outside for Black Friday. The Summer birds are long gone, but my Winter feathered friends enlivened the landscape with flashes of red, white, gold and blue.
A bonus: it didn’t take me long to find these birds. They all visited the bird feeders within the space of a half an hour as I sat quietly watching.

Seven From the Yard: Day Two
This young blue jay was shy for quite a while, but the discovery of the birdbath enticed it to visit. Lately, it has been a daily companion. I have been watching his adult feathers emerge these past weeks. This “common” bird has such detailed and delicate markings!

Nature’s Art Forms
Landscape, portraiture and sculpture were present during my morning exploration at the pond. A phoebe seemed to enjoy posing, while a heron was statuesque and a bit of a trickster.
