Corn on the cob is best cooked as soon as possible after harvesting, as the natural sugars in corn start turning to starch as soon as it is picked.
How does corn get on the internet? It uses a cobweb.

At this farm stand, you could select ears of corn harvested from nearby fields.
Why did the corn stalk win an award? Because it was outstanding in its field.

You could also pick up a mum that was grown in the greenhouses on the left.
When is the corn ready? Mum’s the word.

Just for fun, the “farm family” will soon be available for photo opportunities.
The baby corn asked its mom, “Where’s Pop Corn?

Back at home, the corn looks fresh in the basket that I wove.
What do you call a pair of cornstalks that are best friends? Ear buds!

The corn is protected by the husk and corn silk, which helps keeps the kernels moist and sweet.
Why did one of the five kernels not pop in the pan?
It was wearing sunscreen.

What does corn wear to bed? Silk pajamas!

These kernels of butter and sugar corn look delicious, but what would you call a single, solitary kernel of corn?
-A unicorn!

A fun post, Julie. Love the riddles 😀
Thanks. I think a little bit of light fun is good during times like these…
Indeed!
A corny post Julie, but a delight for the senses. Love fresh corn season. Our favourite is peaches and cream and the best supplier in the province is Taber corn. In our Eastern provinces (Maritimes), they have a meal tradition known as Corn Jus’ Corn, where the only menu item on offer is corn on the cob and of course butter and salt. Have a wonderful day. Allan
Ooh, I bet peaches and cream tastes great! Our butter and sugar corn is coming to an end, and it’s time for silver queen around here. Corn Jus’ Corn sounds great to me. Happy Sunday, Julie
I’m impressed with your handmade basket, its gorgeous! Sadly, corn is no longer something I can eat, wah! 😭
Thanks, Eliza. I haven’t made baskets in a while. So sad that corn isn’t on your go-to list anymore!
What an awesome farm stand, great shots and I love the witticisms.
Thank you for visiting and commenting!
Looks like a fun place to visit. There is nothing quite as good as the taste of fresh picked corn on the cob. Very nice photos! The jokes made me giggle. 🙂
Yes, I’m always a little sad when “corn season” is over.
The title gave us an idea of what we were in for. Groan 🙂
Yes. Who knew there were that many jokes about corn? ;- )
Fun! How this post made me smile.
When I was a kid, we played hide-and-go seek in my dad’s expansive corn field. Some things you never forget…
Hilarious! Thanks for the laughter!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for visiting!
😁😊. Hehehe nice.
Just a little fun in these serious days. 😉
That was fun, Julie, thank you!
Kudos for weaving your own basket. It’s very pretty!
Thanks for noticing my basket. ;- ) Back in the day, I made quite a few!
Good for you! Were they for your own use, or did you sell them?
I sold a few, but mostly for my own use and as presents.
A handmade present–how wonderful! 🧺
Hi Julie – I enjoyed your photos – and the jokes. Here in South Africa, corn cobs are commonly referred to as mealies. I can’t think of any jokes – it would be quite amaizing if I did 😂🌽
Ooh, wish I had thought of that amaizing response. I’ll have to save it for my next corn blog.
